Birthday Girl

By Mom | January 1, 2009

Guess who turned 3 this past December 21st?

Grace, that’s who!  We celebrated it by having a small party for her.  She decided that this year she wanted a princess party but specifically, an Ariel princess party.  So an Ariel princess party she got.

She had an Ariel cake.  Notice the smudged “e” in Grace.  She was a little eager to taste her birthday cake.

Grace even enjoyed her guests singing “Happy Birthday” to her.  Normally she shys away when she hears that song but this year she was ready for it.

She had an Ariel balloon.

She even received many Ariel gifts including this Ariel doll.  Daddy enjoyed playing with Grace and her dolls a little too much.

Here’s Grace with her cousins and friend Ava at the kid table just their size.

After their bellies were full, the real fun began.  They thought they were super funny by playing ding dong ditch.

Those silly girls.  They didn’t realize that no one was home.

The next day on Grace’s real birthday, we had a yummy lunch at Goofy’s Kitchen located at the Disneyland Hotel.  It’s a great place for kids as they serve kid favorites like Mickey Mouse waffles, peanut butter and jelly pizza, and of course, soft serve ice cream.  A few characters stopped by our table to wish the birthday girl a happy birthday but Grace was a little freaked out I guess.  Here, Dale is trying to get Grace to smile but she wouldn’t budge.

A special note from Grace:

“Thanks for all the awesome gifts and for celebrating my special day!!!”
