Oktoberfest
By Mom | October 21, 2009
It’s Oktoberfest time! We have this small German restaurant near our house that Dan has been asking to try out forever so we finally decided to go during Oktoberfest. Luckily it was the first weekend of the celebration so no reservations needed but apparently this place is hopping this time of year.
Also, Aunt Cara and Uncle Shane came to visit their favorite niece and nephew. Grace and Cole were super excited.
We started out with some German beer of course. Prost!
We also got these yummy pretzels with a pate spread for appetizers. They were so yummy that I want to go back after Oktoberfest just to eat the pretzels.
For entertainment, you have to have the accordionist polka man. His name was Papa Heinz. He played Grace a few songs she would know but she wasn’t too impressed.
But then he let her assist him in playing “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” and she liked him a little bit more.
Chicken dance time!
Gracie sat there the first time he came by to do the chicken dance but was enjoying herself for round two.
As a special gift, Papa Heinz gave Grace his business card.
Auf Wiedersehen!
