Halloween Decorations & Pumpkin Patch

By Mom | November 1, 2009

I’m sad that Halloween is over but we had a great time preparing for it this year.  Grace was a big help in decorating the house with some Halloween spirit.

She enjoyed putting the Halloween jellies on the window.

She also helped with spreading out spider webs all over our boxwood shrub out front.

This year we tried something new and made cheesecloth ghosts to hang from our tree.  We cut cheesecloth fabric into strips and soaked them into liquid starch.  Then we layered them over a form I created to look like a ghost.  After drying overnight you have a spooky ghost!

Another decoration we made were spider egg sacs made from tights, egg foam form, spider webbing, and plastic spiders.  I forgot to take a close up picture but here’s Daddy getting ready to hang it up.

Wow!  Look at that floating ghost!

Daddy is putting up the final touches with a spider web and creepy spider.

Grace was so proud of her work!

PUMPKIN PATCH

This year we took the kids to the Harvest Moon Festival and pumpkin patch.  There they had a jump house, face painting, games, food and some country music.

Grace and Ava couldn’t wait to get their wrist bands to hop in the jump house.  Normally Grace doesn’t take a bad picture but this one tops the charts!  Her hair is crazy and her face is pretty funny too from the jumping.

There was also a slide for the kids connected to the jump house.

After all that jumping the girls went to get their face painted.

The girls agreed matching unicorns was the best idea.

We then headed over to the pumpkin patch and Ava helped Grace pick out the right pumpkin.

Gotta run! Mommy has got lots of blogging to do.
