October is here and it’s my favorite month. The seasons change (not that much in Southern Cali) and it kicks off the holiday season. We started out by decorating the house with Halloween decor. Grace and Daddy had fun putting up stickies on the mirror and wall.

We then headed out to the local pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins for each member of the family. Grace was in charge of selecting the best ones.

Grace is unable to respond directly to Ava’s tag, so I and her mother will fill in the required information on her behalf.

1. What was I doing 10 years ago?

10 years ago, I did not exist.

2. Five things on my to do list today?
* Wake up earlier than my parents would appreciate
* Suck on binkies– yes, more than one. One just ain’t enough
* Hook up some candy for peeing and pooping on the potty
* Catch up with my favorite monkey, Curious George
* Hang out with my pals at daycare

3. Five or so places I have traveled?
* Lake Nacimiento

* Las Vegas (It was for a wedding. I didn’t gamble.)

* Catalina

* Carlsbad — I visited Sea World and Legoland

* Disneyland

4. Five snacks/treats I enjoy
* Goldfish — any color
* Green Grapes
* Snap Pea puffs (They’re shaped like snap peas, but they’re not snap peas)
* Nuts, especially cashews
* Gummy anything

5. What would I do if I were a billionaire?
I would buy a medieval castle in Austria to live in with my wardrobe full of princess gowns and slippers. I would hire servants to tickle me on demand. I would purchase a controlling interest in the Nuk brand of pacifiers to insure that I would always have access to an endless supply of binkies.

6. Five bad habits.
* I sort of have a bit of a binky habit if you hadn’t noticed
* I contradict everything my mother says
* I eat and run, literally. I have trouble sitting still, period.
* I’m a notorious dawdler, especially when my mom is running ten minutes late.
* I’m a little too proud for my own good. I have trouble delegating tasks that I know are above my skill level.

7. Places I have lived.
* Born and raised at the beach
* I’m thinking of buying a timeshare in Hawaii, or Koohowee, as I like to call it.

8. Jobs I’ve had
Work?! Are you kidding? If I had a job, I would probably be an object arranger supervisor. I would yell out orders to my colleagues telling them where to put things. If that doesn’t pan out I could always fall back on becoming a professional karaoke singer.

9. People I think should answer these questions (you’ve been tagged!)
No one. It ends here. This took far too much of my time, and I don’t want to cause a decrease in productivity for any of my friends and acquaintances.

It’s been a while since our last post and Gracie has done so many fun things. Unfortunately, Mommy is super busy with her CPA exams that she doesn’t have the time to post on a weekly or even a monthly basis. Nevertheless, here are a few pictures to catch you up on how Grace is doing.

HALLOWEEN 2007

Grace had a blast learning about Halloween. This year Daddy picked out the costume for her. He just loved the his little pink Octopus. Unfortunately, Gracie wasn’t so thrilled with it at first. Here’s Dan (as Earl from My Name is Earl) and Grace right before she went trick or treating.

After a few houses Grace really started to enjoy getting candy from strangers! Uh-oh, I’d better keep an eye on her. Here she is enjoying her candy afterwards.

NOVEMBER 2007

Grace is really starting to develop great friendships with her cousins. Here’s Grace with her cousins at Taylor’s birthday recently.

How cute is this….

Grace is really starting to understand how to take pictures. She has a super cute scrunchy face she does when we ask her to say “Cheese”. Here she is with Papa at CPK.

Here’s a family portrait. Notice how Grace has her arms around us. Now everytime we’re at a restaurant with a booth, she wraps her arms around us and says “Cheese”.

THANKSGIVING 2007

YaYa and PaPa hosted Thanksgiving this year and once again, Grace had so much fun playing with her cousins. She looked so adorable in her “Paris” dress. In fact, her cousins Emily and Madeline also had the “French look” going on with their berets. Here’s Grace trying on baby Madeline’s beret.

Here’s a picture of all the cousins and Great Grandma Esther.

GRACE THE FUTURE RUNWAY MODEL

Lately, Grace has been into shoes. Whether it’s Mommy’s shoes or her own, she loves to walk up and down with them. She has also decided that she loves dresses. Everyday when I ask her what she wants to wear, she says “dress”. Here are a few pictures of Grace and her unique style.

***Disclaimer: Grace chose this outfit herself.

Well, Summer is over and now Gracie gets to enjoy all the excitement Fall brings each year. But of course when you live in Southern California, it seems like it’s always Summer out. That’s why you’ll still find us at the park and beach having fun.

Here’s a family portrait of us at the beach in Ventura.

That same day we met up with friends Dan and Marlene and their baby Ava at the park. They are going to grow up to be such great friends.

Here’s Grace and Ava in the Choo Choo train. I think Ava is trying to figure out why Grace’s face looks different than normal. Maybe it’s the bug eye sunglasses?! Too cute.

Other days, Grace and Mommy stay at home playing dress up…….

Or making brownies…..yum…..licking the bowl and spoon is always the best part.

OCTOBER 2007

In October, we went to the local Ventura Pumpkin Patch. We decided to walk since it is so close to our house. We took Gracie in her wagon and Molly along for the ride.

When we were all done, we piled all the pumpkins in the wagon and walked back home.

SEA WORLD AND LEGO LAND

We also took a belated family vacation in October. Yaya Linda and Papa Dave joined us in Carlsbad where we took Grace to Sea World and Legoland for the first time. She had a blast.

Here’s Gracie trying to touch a bat ray. She got a kick out of watching Daddy and Papa feed the bat rays fish.

Gracie also loved touching the starfish. I see a future marine biologist in our hands.

Here’s some Legoland fun. Luckily Grace was able to ride about 5-6 rides with us because she made the minimum height of 34″.

Grace really wanted to drive the boat.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Yep, that’s a pumpkin made out of Legos. Everything there is made out of Legos!

See you next time.

This afternoon, I got a call from Maricar, her daycare provider, informing me that in my haste to get her dressed this morning, I neglected to put a diaper on Gracie! Yikes! I guess after about 30 minutes at Maricar’s house Gracie went over to the diaper cubby and pulled one of hers out and gave it to Maricar. Maricar thought she made a poopie but come to find out she was going commando!

All I can say is that this was another attack of the “Mommy Brain”.

Grace saw the little stuffed gorilla again over the weekend. I’ll have to post a pic of it one of these days. She remained apprehensive around it. But she eventually was brave enough to go up to it and poke it. I didn’t really help matters any by pretending it had attacked and killed me, gnawing at my jugular. Don’t worry. Grace is pretty smart. She is already about as jaded as her mom is about my sense of humor. The two of them are a tough crowd.
